Liverpool has confirmed that the club separated from head coach Matt Beard.
The Reds are currently seventh place in the Super League (WSL) of women (WSL) with only four wins that have so far been under their belt this season.
In a top four -finish finish in 2023/24, Bart was called the WSL manager of the season, which led the Merseyside team on an insipirational run. But after he was finished before Manchester United, Liverpool did not support her impressive campaign.
The team has to struggle with unfortunate injuries and lost important players. With Liverpool you have now left 14 points from the top four, which you could crack in the past season.
Liverpool thanked Bart for his contribution in an official club declaration: “We have all experienced some fantastic moments with Matt as Manager of LFC Women and we thank you for his significant contribution. Our priority was to return this team to where it belongs, and we achieved this together by winning the advertising to the WSL.
“We have to build on this dynamic, and although this was a difficult decision, we believe that it offers us the best chance for future success on the field.”
Amber Whiteley will take over as interim manager for the intermediate future, while the club begins its search for a permanent head coach.
Bart delivered successive WSL titles in 2013 and 2014 during his first magic in Liverpool. After jobs at West Ham United, which he led to the FA Cup final of women in Wembley in 2019, and Bristol City, the Londoner returned to Liverpool since relegation and brought them back into the top flight.
