Manchester City has confirmed that 19-year-old midfielder Claudio Echeverri was associated with the squad after his loan ended with the river sign.
In January 2024, City paid 12.5 million GBP to sign Echeverri and agreed to send it back to his original side by the end of the calendar year, and there were even reports that they had to resist the efforts to expand this further.
Echeverris talents have now led him to Manchester, where he will join in for the rest of the season and beyond with City’s squad.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be here in Manchester and finally be able to call me a player of Manchester City,” Echeverri told Club Media. “Football was my life and my dream was to play for one of the best teams in Europe. Today I am closer to this dream.
“Manchester City is one of the best teams in the world. They not only win trophies, they play the game so beautiful. They are an example of everyone – they show people how they can play the best football.
“Part of this team and the culture here at City – and use this as my basis for developing my game – I am very happy about me.
“My family and I are so proud to be here. My focus is now on working as hard as possible in training to show the manager and his employees. I am good enough to be part of this team.”
