The head coach of Manchester United, Marc Skinner, praised goalkeeper Phallis-Joyce when she continues to enjoy a rich form.
The American was an impressive force for United this season and conceded only six goals in 14 games to keep nine clean sheets in the women’s Super League (WSL).
“During my time, I was lucky enough to work with some incredible goalkeepers, but for me it has mobility and sportiness that I cannot keep up with,” said Skinner at his last press conference.
The strong defensive structure of United has impressed this season, and the entire back four have been performing consistently high in the past few weeks. The head coach praised Tullis-Joyce’s ability to give them a feeling of comfort.
“I think she is dominant,” the head coach continued. “I think she gets up in the moments when we need her, which is probably two or three times per game. She has all the defenders behind her.
“It is the whole reason why we brought her to Manchester United because we saw this talent. I am incredibly proud of her because she got some challenging times to get where it is, and now we see that it only gets better.
“She has many, many properties, and statistically, I think that hopefully she will be the best goalkeeper.
Despite its latest form, Tullis-Joyce was not selected as part of the U.S. national team for the Sebelieves Cup campaign of the squad. Emma Hayes decided to select Jane Campbell (Houston Dash) and Mandy McGlynn (Utay Royals) over the United goalkeeper. Tullis-Joyce was still traveling home to the USA to join the squad as a training player.
Grace Clinton is another united star who rises through the rows and will be awarded one after the other in the campaign of the UEFA Women’s Nations League in February in February. The 21-year-old tested against the best and came with Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati in the brave victory of England against Spain.
In the absence of Georgia Stanway, Sarina Wiegman decided to use Clinton in number eight. The United Starlet took the challenge with strength and shows its potential in a deeper midfield role.
“Grace definitely grows to 8 rolls, that is the forward memorial process for her,” said Skinner. “I and you agreed and I know that Sarina feels the same way. I really enjoyed her mature performance.
“England was in a block for a bit of a game, which then gives them space in covering positions. Grace is excellent in these, she still wants to develop the box to the box because I think that she has to give all of these properties. It is about looking at where Grace is, and trying to bring her into the team to win us.
