Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiatshile would be available against FC Copenhagen for the last-16 draw on Thursday, while Romeo Lavia is back in training.
The blues have been deleted by injuries in the past few weeks. Maresca has not been able to name a recognized striker for more than a month after Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu were played with fitness complaints in the same game.
There were also many problems at the other end of the field. Center-Back Chalobah has maintained a back problem, while the defender Badiail has not been presented since December. However, Maresca confirmed that both would be part of the squad who will travel to Denmark on Thursday evening.
“Both ready,” beamed Maresca. “Trev, luckily not something serious. Ben is back, trained for the past few weeks and days.”
Wesley Fofana, which is absent in the Southampton’s victory, returned to the squad to the victory of Chelsea, but cannot be able to achieve his first appearance of the year, since he was not included in the club’s squad of the club’s conference league. Maresca had positive news about Romeo Lavia, who like Fofana is not part of the League squad conference anyway.
“Wes is not in the squad, but also back,” added the Chelsea boss. “Romeo started training with us. Slowly we have the players back, it is important for the last rush of the season.”
Maresca confirmed that Robert Sanchez would start in front of Filip Jorgensen between the posts for Chelsea after being downgraded for the Premier League games. Despite this shift, the Italian trainer had to emphasize pain that he appreciates the importance of Europe’s third competition.
“From now on, the entire conference league and all games of the Premier League are important, so we will take one after the other and try to win as many games as possible,” insisted Maresca.
