A number of Parisian Saint-Germain-Stars have publicly warned Liverpool of her self-confidence.
PSG was conveniently the better of the two sides than they met last week, but it is Liverpool who has a slim advantage after Harvey Elliott’s strike scored a 1-0 victory at Parc des Princes.
After the PSG squad enjoyed 70% property and 27 goal shots in the first leg in the first leg, she bursts with confidence when they want to book their place in the quarter-finals in Angefield.
“Now it’s time to show what kind of team we are,” said midfielder Vitinha. “We will show what kind of team we are, we will show our character. We will win there. With the game we played, the victory was more than deserved.”
Vitinha was not alone with his public warning of Liverpool, as well as defender Luca’s Hernandez.
“We are very confident. We played a good match in the first leg. We are aware of it,” he said. “Everyone wants to qualify – it is a goal. We know that it will not be easy, it is never easy to play at ANFELD. But we have great players, a great group, a great team. To be honest, we are in a very good dynamic and hope that we do what is necessary at Anfield.”
Right -back Achraf Hakimi added: “If we manage to create the same opportunities, we will definitely achieve at least some. We have the ability to win, we have the squad for it. We will continue the same dynamic as in early 2025.”
While manager Luis Enrique was frustrated by the result from the first leg, he warned Liverpool that PSG could probably be more dangerous, now they are against it.
“We are in the best possible conditions to challenge Liverpool, we have nothing to lose and we will give everything to qualify,” he said. “After the defeat against Liverpool, we were sad, but we recovered, we regained our mood.”
