Barcelona’s manager, Hansi Flick, confirmed that the team’s top scorer of the team Robert Lewandowski will be available for the team against Benfica on Tuesday.
The Polish striker was left out of the squad, which was organized on Saturday evening Osasuna before the game was postponed due to the death of team doctor Carles Minarro.
With a view to the second stage of Barcelona’s European draw against Benfica, Flick confirmed that his front man would be part of the squad this week. “Lewandowski is back and available to play tomorrow,” said the German coach on Monday.
“He is in top form, on Saturday we decided to rest him. In the training session before the game, he had some discomfort due to tiredness and we decided to rest him.”
As impressive as Lewandowski’s balance of 34 goals was in all competitions, his record to appear in the matchday group for each of the 41 games of the club this season is even more admirable for a 36-year-old. Lewandowski will be available, but the Catalans will be without a central defender Paubersi, who is hung in the first leg after his red card.
