The co -owner of Manchester United Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced that his club in football “completely missed the data revolution”, whereby the recruitment completely depends on the technical director Jason Wilcox.
The damn judgment of Ratcliffe in the club’s analysis department is just behind the recent transfer error by the club when Chelsea Geovany Quenda from United from United.
This special misstep was more of a question of negotiation than identification, but there is no shortage of examples when it comes to the club’s bad success record on the transfer market. As part of his surprisingly passionate defense of the Glazer family, Council Cliffe accused the former managing directors of United for the mutilated approach in the off -season.

“Everything we have are Jason’s eyes,” complained Ratcliffe. “And Jason is a guy in the coal face for me. He led the academy in Manchester City. Txiki Begiristain, I know, thought Jason had the best eyes in the club.”
Ratcliffe was full of praise for Wilcox ‘Scouting skills and his strong work relationship with head coach Ruben Amorim, rightly pointed out the impossible requirements to put the recruitment strategy of an entire club on the shoulder of a mortal person. “What he can’t do is to see every game,” the co -owner sighed.
“And that’s what the computer does. The computer can see every game that every player he has ever played football in every league. So you have to marry the two data pieces, and then it tells you something. And that’s what Brenton and Brentford did. And it is also much easier to see the younger talent because the computer does it.
Instead of expanding your recruitment department, United has experienced extremes and extremely controversial personnel cuts in all aspects of the club. “This is our uncomfortable year in which we have to make all of these not particularly beautiful decisions that let people go, this kind of things,” shrugged rat cliffs. “It will be done in summer and then it is about recruitment.
“You can have a chic stadium, but if you have no recruitment, you won’t win football games.”
