The second of four games between Chelsea and Manchester City within 12 days takes place on Wednesday evening when the couple competes against each other in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the women’s Champions League.
Chelsea was nothing shy this season before the dominance, and the new manager Sonia Bombastor monitors a seamless transition to a new era after the departure of Emma Hayes last year. The blues remain undefeated in all competitions and their hopes of claiming a historical four times, remain intact after they hit the city in the final of the women’s league cup on Saturday.
The Sky Blues separated from Gareth Taylor just a few days before the final. Former manager Nick Cushing returned to temporarily take responsibility. Cushing’s team achieved an impressive defeat in the Pride Park, and although they had to struggle in the women’s Super League this season and scored 12 points behind Chelsea on the summit, there is hope that they can surprise about these two legs.
The blues rose to the UWCL quarter-finals after winning all six group games, while City defeated the Barcelona Imperious in Group D, but ended in second.

Man City is again without a few familiar names in Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hanf. The two lion women deal with knee injuries.
Rebecca Knaak, who came to the club in January, maintains a problem and will miss it.
Bunny Shaw also has to deal with a thigh injury that she suffered on Saturday on Saturday, and is a doubt on the first leg. If the productive striker is absent, Vivianne Miedema will probably go into Cushing’s attack, with Jess Park Jill Roord and Yui Hasegawa in midfield.
City predicted the line-up against Chelsea (4-3-3): Yamashita; Casparij, Prior, Alexandri, Ouahabi; Park, Hasegawa, Roord; Fujino, Fowler, Miedema.
Chelsea’s performance in the League Cup final should convince Bombastor to make a few changes to your start -xi, but the blues manager is still without a long list of players.
Naomi Girmala, Sophie Ingle, Mays Mpome, Kadeisha Buchanan, Sam Kerr, Zecira Musovic and Femke Liefing are all for visitors.
Löwin Niamh Charles was able to start with left-back, while Aggie Beever-Jones is pushing for a start at the top. Mayra Ramirez, who achieved a few UWCL goals this season, should continue in Bombastor’s front after opening the score at the weekend.
Chelsea predicted Lineup VS Man City (4-2-3-1): Hampton; Bronze, Bjorn, Hell, Charles; Cuthbert, Nusken; Rytting Kaneryd, Macario, James; Ramirez.
The signs were positive for Cushing’s city on Saturday, but Chelsea’s ruthless series came to the fore when they claimed the first piece of silver this season.
Bombastors Blues prove to be an area, and victories like the ones they pulled on weekends will strengthen the belief that they are unbeatable. This is the only large trophy that the London Club does not have in its hands, and the new manager has a serious family tree on the European stage.
An improved city has to get visitors up and running, but Chelsea will not rest on their laurels after the victory on Saturday. You will be determined to get a big win from home to secure yourself in the last four but to secure your place.
