The legendary former players of Manchester United, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt have questioned the club’s decision to leave their traditional home of Old Trafford for a new stadium.
The influential and pronounced co -owner of the club, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, proudly revealed plans to build a brand new event location of 100,000 seats at the beginning of this month. The construction of this huge, extensive giging is monitored by Foster + Partners and includes a new public square that is “twice as large as the Trafalgar Square”.
United expects the total costs in the region of 2 billion GBP, although this is considered a “largest football stadium in the world” as a small price for what Ratcliffe predicted.
Giggs was not entirely convinced. “I think everyone, if possible, would like to keep the stadium like this” Manchester Evening News. Giggs laid the work of Barcelona and Real Madrid to renovate their existing venues as a preferred method.
“You have always been at the top of the technology, the best stadium, the best fan experience and we fell back with it,” continued Giggs.
“I don’t think the design will look like this,” the former winger sniffed. “I think when you see buildings and get the headlines and it is such a shock. But if it will be a new stadium that looks like it, it has to be the best. Hopefully we will get the best players on the field.”

While Giggs questioned the aesthetic details of United’s plan for a soil that was quickly referred to as the “new Trafford”, Butt mocked about the financial possibility of the entire matter.
“It’s great that you have some new plans,” the former midfielder shrugged. “Whether it is feasible or not is a guess. It is obviously a massive, massive project. It will cost a lot of money. I would like to see that it happens, but I just think that there is so much money and there are so many things that have to go right.
“But the thought process of going in the right direction is a good thing for me, whether we can reach this level or just get a new stadium and not the facilities everywhere, I just don’t know. I would like to think that it would happen, but I think there is still a long way to reach this level.”
United plans to stay in Old Trafford while the new floor is being built. The taxpayers will not finance the actual structure of the stadium, but the circuit diagrams were created on the assumption that the British government pursued its growth agenda and its regeneration plans for the region. Many within the club and parliament have publicly trained their trust that this new soil will be built – despite the doubts of Giggs and butt.
