Arda Guler insists that despite a limited role in his second season, he does not intend to give up his career from Real Madrid.
Guler arrived in the Spanish capital in the summer of 2023, with Madrid issued a declaration of intent by overmisting the publication clause in his Fenerbahce contract.
His first campaign was defined by injury setbacks, which delayed his debut by several months, but he ended the season fully fit and in a glossy form, followed by a star application at Euro 2024.
The 20-year-old made 30 appearances in all competitions, but only ten of them came as a starter, while for two assists in a 3: 3 draw with Rayo Vallecano in mid-December in a La Liga XI. His limited minutes took the headlines during the international break after being the subject of a mockery of Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
It had led to rumors that Guler will leave Madrid next summer if he won’t get a significant season next season.
At least publicly, the attacking midfielder has promised his commitment to the club and revealed that he laid down roots in the city.
“Real Madrid gave me a plan and I still believe in it,” said Guler Marca during the international service.
“I am sure I will be successful at Real Madrid. I even bought a house in Madrid. I work very hard and I am always ready to play how you could see in this game against Hungary.
“I love Real Madrid fans, and your support means a lot to me. I am very grateful. I have come to Real Madrid to play and be an important part of this team. And I will not stop fighting until I achieve this.”
The series -a executives were connected to Guler, reported at the beginning of this month to have measured and promoted the player’s interest in a potential step. But he was described as “Plan B” for the main goal Nico Paz, who played with Como last summer after leaving Madrid.
