Liverpool was overturned to complete a deal for the full-back of Juventus Andrea Cambiaso when they prepare for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure at the end of the season.
With his contract, which closed back, Alexander-Arnold has reported a contract with Real Madrid and ensured a considerable increase in salary for a significant registration bonus.
His likely departure will leave a huge hole in the Liverpool squad and require a replacement in the upcoming transmission window.
While Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has long been regarded as the preferred replacement of Arne Slot for the English, is La Gazzetta Dello Sport Call Cambiaso as a potential candidate to follow Alexander-Arnold.
Cambiaso, a natural left -back who feels incredibly comfortable on both sides of defense, was strongly followed during the Manchester City’s transfer window after Kyle Walker’s departure to AC Milan, and PEP Guardiola’s side is likely to be sparked again this summer.
Juventus has to make at least one major sale this year – not least because Thiago Motta’s recent departure brought another unplanned effort – and Cambiaso is considered the most likely victim due to the growing interest in his service.
The city’s offer in January was reported as a value of € 65 million (£ 54.2 million), but it is said that Cambiaso now has a value of € 60 million (£ 50 million). He still has four years in his contract, so Juventus will not have low offers.
Such an effort is possible for Liverpool, but possibly not in the same summer as potential movements for a new striker and central defender, both of whom are seen as larger priorities behind the scenes of Anfield.
The graduate of the academy, Conor Bradley, was a core player for Slots team this season, who is making 22 appearances in all competitions, and he seems to be the natural heritage of Alexander-Arnold’s position if Liverpool does not make a new signing this summer.
