Premier League director confirms interest in Real Madrid star

Aston Villa Sporting Director Monchi has his interest in admitted signing Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler.

Guler has struggled for minutes since moving to Madrid in 2023 and started only six La league games this season – a fact that triggered a fact from the midfielder of Liverpool Dominik Szoboszlai during the international break.

Rumors about a possible exit for the 20-year-old are common, but Guler recently confirmed his commitment to Madrid and insisted that he remains determined to do this to achieve the breakthrough in Santiago Bernabeu.

Nevertheless, Guler could soon be forced to make a decision about his future if the season remains limited, and Monchi has now suggested that the villa could stand close to the front of the queue.

“I know him well because he is a player whose career in Turkiye followed from every sports director,” said Monchi Marca. “He is a player who met a number of requirements and could be attractive for the Aston Villa because we were looking for this position.

“It is not the same position as Marco Asensio, but we are more or less looking for this profile between the lines that can play as 10 and who can even play outside.

“Personally, I think he is a player with very good technical skills, and I also think that he has personality. He shows it when he plays for the national team. There he takes on roles that are not connected to his age.”

Villa is expected to sign Asensio, formerly Madrid, when his loan from Paris Saint-Germain ends this summer, but remains reinforced in search of attacks and could test the guler’s determination when opening the transfer window.
