Real Madrid Manager Carlo Ancelotti has denied having spoken to the Brazilian Football Veration (CBF) about a future step.
After the Brazil’s shock with a 4-1 defeat against Argentina during the international break, there were several reports in which the Selecao had considered to dismiss the current boss Dorival Junior, and addressed long-term target-dancelotti.
It was said that Ancelotti showed an interest in the topic, but emphasized his commitment to Madrid until the end of the season. The Italian coach was in front of the media on Friday and was not surprisingly asked about the speculation that he had stuck and rejected.
“No” was Ancelotti’s answer when he was asked if he had spoken to the CBF. “I had a great time [during the international break] Because I went to Italy to see my ‘great -grandparents’ and I loved it. Fortunately, I didn’t read all of this stuff.
“My contract is clear that I have nothing to add. I love Brazil, his players and fans, but I have a contract with Real Madrid.”
The Brazilian icon Ronaldo went so far that he had spoken to Ancelotti about the takeover of the national team after the 2022/23 season, but the Madrid boss bluntly rejected the proposal.
“I don’t remember that I talked to Ronaldo about it,” he said.
Ancelotti is under contract with Madrid by 2026, but has exposed itself to a possible summer party, whereby the Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen was reported as the heir to the throne of the Italian.
Alonso, whose deal also expired at the end of next season, was connected to Madrid last summer, but publicly confirmed his wish to stay with Leverkusen after the international break in 2024.
In view of the chance to do the same this time, Alonso refused to be moved to a possible exit at the end of the season.
“The situation is different,” he told the media. “There was something to decide at the time. This time there is nothing. That is the big difference.
“I concentrate on this season. This is the most important thing. We are in an important phase. We don’t want to speculate or think about football other than football.”
