Arsenal has confirmed that the central defender Gabriel Magalhaes is expected to miss the rest of the season with a thigh injury.
The Brazilian defender drove on Tuesday evening on Tuesday evening early on the 2-1 win from Arsenal via Fulham to capture the back of his right leg. After hobbling around the field while both teams refused to get the ball out of the game, Gabriel was finally helped to the sidelines.
Mikel Areta was careful to deliver a diagnosis immediately after the game, and Declan Rice repeated many fans with his quick reaction. “I hope he is fine because he was probably our best player this season and we need him for big games and big occasions,” said the midfielder.
The worst fears were confirmed on Thursday when Arsenal published an explanation in which Gabriel had to go under the knife to correct the damage caused by his muscles.
“In addition, during our game against Fulham on Tuesday, we can confirm that Gabriel Magalhaes suffered a thigh injury that requires an operation,” said the club.
“Gabi will go through a surgical repair process for his knee tendon in the coming days and immediately start with his restoration and rehabilitation program, with the aim of being ready for the start of the next season.
“Everyone in the club will fully concentrate on supporting Gabi to ensure that they are back into full fitness as soon as possible.”
Gabriel is hardly the only participation in injury that Areta in the quarter-finals against Real Madrid against Real Madrid in front of a Champions League double head memory must take place in the Emirates next Tuesday.
“How we managed to be where we are with all of these injuries,” said Areteta, taking a defiant attitude after confirming that there was also doubts about Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White and Jurrien Timber.
“It is what it is. But we want it so much that we will do it real. We lose four players in the line of defense in one week: Calafiori, Ben White, Jurrien and Gabi. We have more four that they are so ready to do the job.”
