The central defender of Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk, was not agreed with ex-Reds striker Michael Owen about the perceived disappointment in connection with the executives of the Premier League.
This heated exchange took place after Liverpool had scored a 1-0 win on Wednesday evening against Everton and found 12 points in front of Arsenal at the summit of the division.
However, the Arne Slot side had turned four times in January. A shock cup output to Plymouth Argyle quickly followed from the elimination of the Champions League through Paris Saint-Germain and a convincing defeat for the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United.
Owen claimed that a feeling of disappointment after these successive setbacks in the other competitions over the fan base.
“Liverpool was ready to have a phenomenal season. If you win the Premier League Premier League Productions On Wednesday evening.
“The dust will settle, everyone will recognize whether it is the Premier League that they win at the end of the season, and only the Premier League, which will be an incredible season, and they have broken their hand at the beginning of the season.
“But it doesn’t stop the feeling of the past few weeks, and it will be really important for everyone who is connected to the club to get this feeling of profit.”
Van Dijk was unimpressed by this attitude when he appeared on the show. “So you suggest that the season will no longer be something special?” He grabbed.
“It will be absolutely special,” Owen replied quickly, “but I thought it could have been built up to something very special.”
Once again, the Liverpool skipper expressed its contempt for every curses of disappointment. “Well, I think we have to change this story a little.
“We are fighting for the biggest price of the season, we worked so hard for it, 20 teams work so hard to be the Premier League. We have eight games, we know what is at stake. We have to decide to fight, we have to enjoy the whole trip and then see each other.
“I think what you said at the beginning of the season, I think nobody expects us to fight all four fronts. Obviously we are now on stage where we are still fighting for the greatest, and that is the reality. It is still a way that this season will be very, very special.”
