Tottenham Hotspurs Unterfeuer-Manager Ver Postecoglou spoke bluntly of the prospect of losing his job and admitted that Spurs will have “some outstanding candidates” to replace him and he will not have any difficulty finding a different job.
Spurs will go together on Thursday in London Derby against Chelsea in 14th place. The outfit in North London has lost 15 of their 29 top games this season this season, although they scored as many goals as their loathed neighbors Arsenal -who are in second place.
Postecoglou held a ruinous injury record and the poor preparation time for Tottenhams Dire Premier League form, although it freely admits that it was a “hard” and “disappointing” season.
These overwhelming results have led to speculation about the future of Postecoglou. The head of Bournemouth Andoni Iraola was invoiced as Tottenham’s first election candidate for the Australian. Fulhams Marco Silva and Brentford manager Thomas Frank were also floated.
When the topic of his potential departure was raised, Postecoglou tried to convey a feeling of nervous calming. “I am sure when the club decides to go in a different direction, there are some outstanding candidates for it,” he sniffed. “You know something, maybe someone will think: ‘Ah postcoglou is not a bad coach, maybe we’ll take a punt on him.’ It doesn’t rock my world.
The current national team manager of the US men, Mauricio Pochettino, recently repeated his wish to return to Tottenham at some point in the future. Once again, Postecoglou proved to be thoroughly non -offering.
“Mauricio, if he wants to come back one day, I hope that it will happen to him. We all have dreams and efforts when that is what he wants,” insisted postcoglou. “I don’t feel respected. I think that if you ask Mauricio this question, you would get a fairly clear answer to what his intention was. Nothing by me again. I concentrate more on making sure we win tomorrow evening.”
Spurs are still involved in the Europa League and have a quarter-finals against the Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt quickly. Despite all his speech to go potentially, Postecoglou still thought about this season. “I was brought in to change the way the club plays, rejuvenate the squad and bring success – I concentrate on it,” he said. “I’ll go on.”
