Kevin de Bruynes last Manchester derby was not one for Manchester City’s playmaker.
After DE Bruyne announced his summer departure of Manchester City in building the game, he received a rare start on Sunday and led his team for the 13th time this season when they sagged a 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
Much of the attention focused on de Bruyne, but unfortunately he was one of many players for the 33-year-old who, in truth, did not attract attention that was in truth.
For de Bruyne, the game on Sunday was the first Premier League game in seven years in which he does not create a single chance despite the full 90 minutes.
Not since a meeting with West Ham United in April 2018, De Bruyne had played Volle 90 and couldn’t manage to create at least one chance for his teammates – a run of 88 games with at least one chance.
It may not have been the dream to end his heir from Manchester Derby for de Bruyne, but the Belgian international was still awarded for praise by United Captain Bruno Fernandes after the game.
“De Bruyne did better the Premier League,” said Fernandes Sky Sport. “If the city is there and who has not won UTD many trophies during this time, it is up to Kevin de Bruyne, and he deserves the whole loan.
“He made it fantastic. Ten years in the Premier League are a lot. They decided to separate. I don’t know which side, but Kevin is always world class, and I was a pleasure to watch him so close. It was a pleasure to play against him.
“He will stay in the history of the Premier League, not just from Man City.”
