Barcelona and La Liga are still the heads, the latter speaking the decision of the Spain higher sports council to enable Dani Olmo and Pau Victor to remain registered.
In view of his top -class and expensive arrival of RB Leipzig, Olmo was the focus of Spain with Spain at Euro 2024. However, both players were in the same boat, whereby their initial registration in relation to Barcelonas was only possible by a short -term gap until December 31.
Regulations determine that a player cannot hold two separate registrations for a single club in the same season. When the first registrations ended, Spain’s Football Federation (RFEF) and La Liga Olmo and Victor banned to play another role for Barcelona in this campaign.
At that time, every player could have been hypothetically possible as free agent, whereby Barcelona is liable for the full value of their respective contracts and in the case of Olmo the transmission fee. However, the club successfully appealed to the Spain’s highest sports authority, which granted temporary registrations until a final judgment was achieved after an investigation.
This last judgment, which was submitted at the beginning of this month, stood on the Barcelona side via RFEF and La Liga. However, the latter submitted her displeasure with the judgment, which must now be checked again.
Barcelona has rely on the sale of VIP areas of EUR 100 million in the newly developed Camp Nou to put the finances in order. But La Liga openly questioned the validity of this deal and argued that the club had never had the “capacity” of registering Olmo and Victor.
Barcelona has now accused La Liga of publishing confidential information in a statement this week.
“Barca Underlines la leaga’s Inappropriate Behavior in Making Public The Details Of The Financial Information Provided by the Club’s Board Members,” It Read, “As Well as In Making Public The Decisions of La Liga’s Governing Bodies Against FC Barcelona, An Act That, In The Club’s Opinion, ‘is a flagrant break of la league’s obligation to one of it affiliates, as well as an Express Breach of Article 5 of the regulations for the preparation of budgets.
