Senior INEOS official steps down from Man Utd board for new role

Manchester United removed the senior ineos official Jean-Claude Blanc as a director and instead confirms a new role for one of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s next helpers.

Blanc has been in the Board of Directors in Old Trafford since he was appointed Sir Dave Brailsford since he was purchased from Ineos’ Sporting Arm, after the Buy-in by Sir Dave Brailsford last year.

The Frenchman, formerly board member of Juventus, will continue to be involved in the management of United, but now in an advisory role.

“Jean-Claude Blanc has resigned from his position as director of Manchester United, but will continue to play an active role in the administration of the association in his new position as head of the international football relationships and special consultants of the board,” confirmed an explanation.

In the middle of more structural changes in Old Trafford, the club Michael Sansoni is to take on a leading data role after identifying an analysis as an area for strengthening. Sansoni has made its name in Formula 1 with Mercedes, who is owned by Ineos.

The Daily Mail writes that the move has the blessing of Mercedes, with high -ranking officials from United believe that Sansoni’s skills and experiences are transferable in the data analysis of F1.

Ratcliffe previously described United about data analysis as the “last century”. “United completely missed the data revolution,” the British billionaire sighed, “which Brighton and Brentford did not do, which Liverpool didn’t do either.

“Liverpool had Ian Graham analyzed between 2012 and 2023. They brought Jürgen Klopp with them and had Michael Edwards as sports director and Graham, who is the genius in football for data analyzes.”

“Graham was the forerunner and United missed it,” continued Ratcliffe. “We still miss because we still have no data analysis with United.”
