Virgil van Dijk explains decision to sign new Liverpool contract


Virgil van Dijk has admitted that he fell in love with everything about Liverpool and made the decision to sign a new contract for a simple contract.

After months of nervous speculation, van Dijk set up a new two -year contract on paper on Thursday after having to commit his future to the club to the club for the foreseeable future.

Despite the rumors of a possible change to European heavyweights such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or Inter, van Dijk insisted that he hesitated to extend his stay at Liverpool by 2027.

While the feeling of the family in Liverpool contributed to his decision at a personal level, van Dijk also admitted that he was the best for his wife and children.

“It is an emotional day, not only for me, but also for my family,” he continued. “My children are almost like scousers, they know nothing more than Liverpool, especially my two youngest.

“You live your life from obviously where I come in Holland and you live a very good life, a blessed life, but we also live this good life because of the people in Liverpool, the club, the fans. So it is a relationship that I really appreciate.
