Real Madrid may have to pay an eighttail amount to break the Bayer Leverkusen contract of Xabi Alonso and bring it back to the Spanish capital, according to a new report.
The former midfielder of Madrid has become one of the most sought-after managers of modern game since he took over a second place in the Bundesliga Leverkusen team in October 2022. By the summer of 2024, Alonso had supervised an unprecedented, unfortunate, uncanny season.
According to reports, Madrid had reportedly thought about a step after the appointment of Alonso, just so that Carlo Ancelotti was able to temporarily secure his future with a double of the La League Champions League.
After his team had been unloaded from Arsenal from Arsenal from the European Elite Club competition from Europe at the beginning of this week, numerous reports indicate that Ancelotti’s time at Madrid ends.
It was said that Ancelotti could be equipped immediately after the Copa del Rey final of this month against Barcelona from Bernabeu against Barcelona. Madrid is supposed to want Alonso in front of the World Cup, which begins in June, at the top, even though the Spanish coach is not cheap.
When Bayer Leverkusen recently reminded everyone, Alonso has a contract with the club until 2026. It is not assumed that there is a release clause that is included in this deal and the fee that is necessary to break the contract at the discretion of Leverkusen.
Spanish outlet AS claim that the defending Bundesliga champions would be willing to accept around € 10 million (8.6 million GBP). Sky Germany Quote a higher price range, which indicates that it takes between € 15 and € 20 million (€ 12,9-17.2 million) to ward off Alonso from Leverkusen.
If the German outfit manages to extract 17.2 million GBP from Real Madrid, Alonso would be the most expensive manager in the history of La Liga and the third cheapest head coach of all time. Graham Potter’s ultimately doomed movement to Chelsea ultimately resolved the blues by around £ 20 million, while Bayern Munich reported 21.7 million GBP in order to recruit Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig.
Heaven Alonsos Agent Inaki Ibanez also claims in discussions about the potential appointment of his customer for most of two weeks in discussions – before the Champions League of the Spanish team. However, Madrid still has to complete a deal with Leverkusen.
Alonso, on his part, did his best to downplay the rampant speculation. “For us [the rumours about Real Madrid] are nothing, “he said this week too.” We are focusing on the coming season. We have to remember that the season is not over yet. We still have five league games to play and we have to make it very clear.
“We shouldn’t talk about the future. It is not good for us to lose focus. The problem is not important now. I don’t want to talk too much about speculation, rumors or the future. I have never done that with the players or the team. It is not good for the right preparation.”
