The Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique insisted that his team will not do any additional work to prepare for the set-piece threat of Arsenal in the upcoming semi-final of the Champions League.
Arsenal, inspired by the Setical coach Nicolas Jover, has given a call as a big threat from dead balls. At the beginning of the season, countless goals scored from the corners and recently stolen the headlines with two breathtaking freedom from Declan Rice in the quarter-finals triumph over Real Madrid goales against Jovers.
However, Enrique sees no benefits for the management of additional training units to counteract this threat before the first leg of the next week, and argues that the English side with which they have already been confronted – Liverpool and Aston Villa – are probably even more dangerous.
“We will prepare in the same way as against Liverpool,” said Enrique. “Liverpool is a team that has at least as much potential as arsenal, if not more. Aston Villa had great potential in this area, as did the majority of the Ligue -1 teams.
“We will not prepare our team on this aspect of the game. However, it is obvious that we have to be competitive everywhere.”
Enrique even went one step further and argued that it was arsenal that should worry about PSG’s simple threat.
“During this and the previous season we constantly changed our attacking set pieces,” he continued.
“We use it, depending on what seems appropriate to us: direct corners, short corners, indirect corners … it depends on the opponent. We have scored goals in this area and I consider our level to be very good.”
PSG will go to Emirates on Tuesday on Tuesday to avenge their performance during their last trip to England to avenge their performance. Aston Villa appeared with a 3-2 win in the second on-board of the quarter-finals and came to an excruciatingly close to a result that would have lifted the deficit from her first meeting.
The French Giants defeated Liverpool 1-0 in Anfield in the previous round and then performed with the kind approval of a penalty shot.
