Tottenham set Cristian Romero price amid Real Madrid & Atletico Madrid interest

The central defender of Tottenham Hotspur, Cristian Romero, could be allowed to leave the club this summer, a report, as long as the applicants are willing to pay a premium price for the Argentina international.

Romero has been increasingly connected to a Spurs exit in the past few months. He missed large parts of the season by injury and there seems to be a frustration towards his situation.

The 27-year-old was reported unhappily last month about how the club dealt with his injury and recovery. He recently refused to sign his future beyond this season, and left the door open for a summer transfer and even spoke specifically to a switch to La Liga.

It is rumored that both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are interested, and the latter thought that she was particularly interested in a summer transfer.

Marca Claims that Spurs romero rated Romero for € 70 million (£ 60 million), which means that there would be willingness to do business and to shorten bonds if an offer was classified as acceptable.

Atletico -Look set itself for a defensive redesign with the expected drains of veteran couple Cesar Azpilcueta and Axel Witsel, as well as no guarantees that Clement Lenglet loan becomes permanently. City Rivals Real also needs a thrust on the back, after he has now paid the price for an existing lack of central defenders and the potential for David Alaba this season.

Romero’s form for Atalanta in Serie A caused Spurs to conclude an initial loan contract in 2021, which was permanent for 42.5 million GBP. This made Romero the second most expensive player in the history of the club, behind which only flop record that signed Tanguy Ndombele, but an evaluation of 60 million GBP could still be made.

In the best case, Romero is one of the best central defenders in Europe and was a starter in Argentina’s triumph at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

After leaving South America at the age of 20, he quickly climbed with Genoa, which led to a transfer from 2019 to Juventus. But Romero never played a game for the series -a -giants, initially remained borrowed from Genoa and then moved to Atalanta with a similar deal. The latter finally paid only € 16 million for a permanent deal in 2021, significantly less than Juve’s € 26 million.
