According to reports in Germany, Bayer Leverkusen, the former manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten HAG, has added to her selection of summer destinations.
Ten HAG has been unemployed since his departure in October 2024. He spent a little more than two years at Old Trafford and signed a new contract last summer to facilitate his tasks in the current campaign.

Leverkusen are preparing for what they think is the inevitable departure of the current boss Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard Carlo Ancelotti will be replaced as Real Madrid Manager, although the outcome of the latter has been overthrown from the Bernabeu in the past few hours.
From Leverkusen’s point of view, they are confident that Alonso Madrid will connect and have started to create a shortlist with three candidates. In addition to Ten HAG, there is an interest in the former head of Barcelona, Xavi and Brighton & Hove Albion, Fabian Hurzeler.
The trio are ten HAG and XAVI who are considered the strongest candidate due to their immediate availability. Hurzeler would give a significant fee to release it from his contract with Brighton, while the other two options are currently without clubs and eliminate the additional negotiation layer and costs.
Sky Sport Germany Describe ten HAG as a “serious candidate” for Leverkusen. The Dutchman has the experience of German football after working between 2013 and 2015 as a manager of the reserve team in Bayern Munich.
Ten HAG was strongly associated with another Bundesliga team, Borussia Dortmund, after he had regularly participated in games due to his close relationship with club official Matthias Sammer, but a return to management in summer was always considered the most likely result for ten HAG.
