Wrexham confirm Paul Mullin future as decision is made amid uncertainty over club legend

Paul Mulllin seems to stay in Wrexham – although the striker loses his regular place in the squad this year.

The 30-year-old front man was the leading star of the Red Dragons when he rose EFL in recent years.

However, he fell hard in the first division and had difficulty doing the team throughout the club’s entire advertising campaign.

Mulllin, who scored 110 goals for Wrexham in 172 games, has not played a single league game since January and regularly left out by manager Phil Parkinson’s.

He fell out of favor, while he was fighting 2 million pounds for a starting place and Sam Smith and ex-premier League striker Jay Rodriguez under contract.

Steven Fletcher, Jack Marriott and Ollie Palmer are also striker options, so Wrexham had to juggle her striker line.

It led to the fact that Mullin was sacrificed to the red dragons despite his legendary status to secure a place in the championship.

Mulin’s absence raised questions every week about whether he has a future in the club and his contract was running until 2027.

But Parkinson’s has now confirmed what the plan in relation to Mullin and fellow striker Palmer, who also fought for playing time.

The Wrexham boss described the couple as “legends” and revealed that they should stay.

He said to BBC Sport Wales: “First of all, everyone made a contribution.

“Which level was not a role because everyone was together and contributed.

“Of course there are always players who would have liked to have played more.

“Contributions can also come in many forms, so I’m happy about everyone as a group.

“Mulls and Ollie will always be legends for what they have done in this club.

“You will be under contract next year and will be ready to go again in the previous season.”

This decision is made after Wrexham’s managing director Humphrey Ker Talksport has communicated what Mullin needs to possibly return to the team.

Ker said: “With Paul I only believe that two summers he had two very disturbed pre-season in a row, he broke his ribs and pierced a lung, this summer he became back surgery.

“I think that what he may need more than anything, a massive, massive pre -season this year is essentially not a low season and has extra double work and hopefully will withdraw to a team that will be in the championship.”

It also said that Mulllin shouldn’t stay in the club next year, but now his future seems to stay in Wrexham.

The last game of the league -one season for the Red Dragons will take place against Lincoln on Saturday, with the doctorate already secured.

Mullin may be seen in this game and it seems that this will not be his last appearance in a red kite shirt when Parkinson’s attitude remains.

After a pitch invasion and celebrations, Wrexham will probably get back to Las Vegas for a promotion party after a victory against Charlton.

The pre -season for the club’s first championship campaign begins later this summer, whereby Mullin will be involved.
