Andy Robertson makes emotional Liverpool contract admission ahead of uncertain summer

Andy Robertson, the Liverpool left -back, insisted that he is still good enough to play for the club when he swore to fight for his Anfield Future.

The Scotland International suffered a mixed season under the new manager Arne Slot, whose tactics Robertson offered fewer opportunities to bend regularly under the former boss Jürgen Klopp.

With a handful of poor performance that only increases the pressure on Robertson, the argument that he was a “scapegoat”, Liverpool is expected this summer to be on the market for a new left -back and strongly spends Milos Kerkez worth over 40 million GBP.

A defiant Robertson previously expressed the desire to prove his doubters wrong, and when he spoke to Jamie Carragher in a charity in lunch, he made it clear that he had no desire this summer to leave ANFIELD.

“I only have a year left [on my contract,” Robertson said. “So I hope all you [fans] Can help me to make the same noise to a new contract as with Mo. [Salah] and virgil [van Dijk]’S! Maybe you [Carragher] Can no longer combine with other left -backs!

“No look, I’ve had eight wonderful years so far and I have another year. I am not as young as once, but I love this club and I have had some great memories here. Let’s see what the future is doing.

“I still think that I can still produce good performances and some really good performances, and I think I did this this season, so I still think that I can produce on the top level, and if I can do it, then I hung there and hopefully I can stay here for many years.”

Robertson admitted that Liverpool is under slot in a “new era”, although the two full -backs are probably the strongest proof of this.

While Robertson is not replaced by a fight for, Liverpool is prepared for the departure of the right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, which is expected to complete a free transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

However, the signing of a replacement for Alexander-Arnold is not considered a priority. Conor Bradley is expected to act as the team of the team because Liverpool focuses on her efforts to strengthen in other positions, including left -back.
