The midfielder of Newcastle United, Bruno Guimaraes, has confirmed his wish to stay at the club in the face of Manchester City’s inflamed interest.
Guimaraes is on the radar of most elite of the Premier League since he moved to Newcastle in January 2022. Most speculations revolved around Arsenal and City.
Last month, reports added Guimaraes to the list of City’s summer transmission goals in front of a midfield that was triggered by the upcoming departure of Kevin de Bruyne, although a price of 100 million GBP threatened to put an end to the procedure.
Responded to his future of FOURFORTWOGuimaraes did not hide his admiration for City Manager Pep Guardiola, but confirmed his constantly growing love for Newcastle.
“I am very home and live a dream,” he said. “For me it has to be something great for the club, not for me.
“I’m not worried. I trust the club and my agents. I’m so happy here and want to stay.”
Guimaraes previously spoke to Guardiola, but the Brazilian international insisted that his conversations were never involved in a transfer tone height.
“I spoke to him, but nothing about a potential step,” confirmed Guimaraes. “He said some nice things about my game, and I’m very humble about it because he is the best coach I have ever seen. I admire how he affected football.”
Newcastle hopes to keep the vast majority of her squad this summer and, in addition to her mammoth prize for Guimaraes, call for almost 150 million GBP to separate himself from striker Alexander Isak – a fee that will probably deter the interest from Liverpool.
City now has a long list of midfielder. Bayer Leverkusens Florian Wirtz is the headline destination, but Morgan Gibbs-White and Gabriel Sara von Nottingham Forest and Galatasaray are also taken into account.
