Mikel Areta has great hopes for 15-year-old Max Dowman, who penetrates the midfielder of Hale End into his first team and describes him as a “great, great talent”.
While Arsenal could end 2024/25 without cutlery, it was a great season for the Club Academy. In this semester, two teenage sensations were played for the Gunners, especially Myles Lewis-Skelly, after giving his senior debut in September. He believed as an arsenal left -back and even received a first use of England in March.
Ethan Nwaneri, still the most recent debutant of the Premier League, was also impressed when he went to the injured Bukayo Saka in the beginning of 2025. Together for the next decade, Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are ready.
This season Dowman played with Arsenals U18 with the leading role, scored 13 goals in 14 U18 Premier League appearances and scored three in three FA Youth Cup appearances. He has a stylistic similarity to the captain of the first team, Martin Odegaard, and some also characterize the 15-year-old as the potential successor of the Nordic playmaker of the Emirates.
Areta certainly has high hopes. When asked whether Dowman could play a role for his team next season, the Arsenal boss replied: “In the near future, yes.
“Now he is involved in the squad. He trains a lot with us. Does that mean that he will play a lot of games in the Premier League? I don’t know; depends on how good it is and how impressive it is and how much he offers the team like Ethan [Nwaneri]like Myles [Lewis-Skelly]Like any other player in the squad. Let’s see how it develops, but we definitely got a big, great talent there, “he added.
Areta had been criticized in the past not to familiarize Arsenal’s young stars, but the Arsenal boss showed Nwaneri and Lewis Skelly this season that they are old enough if he believes that they are good enough.
The creative midfielder Dowman generated a lot of buzz in North -London. In March, Declan Rice described him as “the best 15-year-old in the country” and clearly impressed the English international in training the first team.
Dowman was a large part of the year in Aretas squad and was part of the club’s trip to Dubai for a training camp for warm weather in February.
