Arsenal was strongly connected to a summer train for Leroy Sane when he entered the last weeks of his contract in Bavaria Munich.
The wing player signed for Bavaria from Manchester City in 2020 after a deal worth £ 54.8 million between the clubs.

Since then, Sane has won four Bundesliga titles, the last of which came on Sunday when the owners Bayer Leverkusen in Freiburg pulled 2-2.
He achieved 115 goal posts in 218 appearances at Bayern, but seems to go when his contract is at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old recently signed for the football agency Gol International under the direction of Pini Zahavi and apparently indicated a summer transfer.
And European football expert Andy Brassell believes that this arsenal could open up an opportunity to sign Sane.
Brassell appeared on Talksport at the Transuropa Express and spoke about the interest of Bavaria in Leverkusen middle field player Florian Wirtz.
“It is really interesting because it has been generally assumed for some time that they cannot afford it this summer,” said Brassell.

“So whether that means that Sane will return to the Premier League, which in my opinion should not be excluded, we know that arsenal has an interest, which in my opinion could be something really interesting to actually see.

“It is also about making space for Wirtz if you also talk about the chopping of old wages because you want to pay off for him over € 125 million and wages of maybe € 20 million per year.
“You are looking for a package of around € 300 million, I would say that if you can get Leverkusen to stop the deal, he still has two years in his contract.
“So that’s one for which Bayern would immerse yourself in their special funds. You could argue that you should probably spend it on defenders, but who can tell Bayern what to do?”
Sane switched from Schalke 04 to Premier League Giants City in 2016 and made 90 appearances in the top class of English football.
He scored 25 goals and supported another 30 for the Pep Guardiola team, winning successive league titles in 2018 and 2019.
