Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed that manager Xabi Alonso will leave the club at the end of the season.
Alonso was a relatively unknown management goods when he agreed to join Leverkusen in 2022 after he had only taken over the rudder of the Real Sociedad B team before moving to Germany, but he wasted little time for himself.
The former midfielder inspired an unbeaten Bundesliga triumph last season and was publicly courted by a number of top sites in Europe. The Bavarian Munich and Liverpool were rejected, but long -term admirers Real Madrid were firmly adhered to this summer to the Spaniard’s attitude.
Carlo Ancelotti is said to leave Madrid at the end of the season and on Friday reported that Alonso had already agreed a three -year contract with the Spanish team.
A potential move to Madrid has now taken a step closer to the confirmation that Alonso will resign from his role as a Leverkusen manager this summer, 12 months before his contract.

“This club, which showed me an extraordinary trust in me, deserves very deserving to win the title of the German league for the first time. The positive way will continue and I will look forward to following him.”
