Arsenal and Chelsea have been told that teenage target Ayyoub Bouaddi is now ready to start in the Premier League.
That’s the verdict of European football broadcaster Andy Brassell, who claimed “there’s a bit of that Wayne Rooney feel” for the 18-year-old Lille star.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs keeping an eye on the teenager, The Pitch Prospect revealed earlier this month.
The Gunners have made the most concrete request from England with Bouaddi, but face strong competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG are well aware of the France U21 international, who played the full 90 minutes of Lilles’ 1-1 draw with Luis Enrique’s side in October.
Play style
Bouaddi attracted worldwide attention when he helped Lille beat Real Madrid in the Champions League on the night he turned 17 three months earlier.
“He’s fantastic,” Brassell, co-host of the Trans Euro Express podcast, told The Pitch Prospect.com exclusively.
“He’s obviously not the same player as Wayne Rooney, but I think you get a bit of the feeling that Wayne Rooney or Jude Bellingham feel for him.”
“As for his physique, his birth certificate says he’s a boy, but he immediately looks like a man.”
“He’s someone who can really handle himself, someone who doesn’t give the ball away often, someone who can cover space from box to box and he’s tactically disciplined.”

Who is Ayyoub Bouaddi?
The 1.95 meter tall midfielder was an integral part of Lilles’ Ligue 1 side before receiving a red card in the 1-0 win over Le Havre last month.
Bouaddi provided an assist in 14 league games, helping his team to fourth place, as well as five appearances in the Europa League.
In Ligue 1 this season, he ranks first among Lille midfielders in contests won and second in both intense runs and successful tackles.
Bouaddi, who joined the club’s academy in 2021 at the age of 13, is considered the Dogues’ best young player since Eden Hazard.
He boosted Lilles’ bargaining power by extending his contract until 2029 earlier this month.

Brassell added: “I think when you look at midfielders who don’t necessarily need to learn the physical side of the Premier League because they’ve already mastered a lot of it, I think that’s something that makes him really interesting.”
“The fact that he has Champions League experience, he is gaining experience in the Europa League this season.”
“With Benjamin Andre he has someone in midfield who is very, very experienced and also very stable and will accompany him through the games.”
“So he’s gaining so much good experience and wisdom.
“I think there will be a big boost for him at the end of this season.
“I think when he’s out of his teens he’ll probably play for a Premier League team rather than Lille.”
