The Scottish star spent most of his career at Anfield, joining nine years ago in 2017 and establishing himself as a modern great.

Robertson won everything at Liverpool.

Although Robertson still holds a crucial leadership role as vice-captain, he has been reduced to a supporting player this season with the arrival of Milos Kerkez.

As first reported by The Athletic, the Reds are currently negotiating with Spurs over an unexpected move for the 31-year-old in January.

The Pitch Prospect understands there is still a lot of work to be done before a deal is completed, but talks between the two clubs are progressing to reach an agreement before the end of the transfer window.

Robertson’s contract expires in the summer and Tottenham have already revealed plans to sign him as a free agent.

This is a move that came out of the blue, but the Spurs are looking to add a quality addition to Thomas Frank’s team.

Robertson moved from Hull City to Liverpool after they were relegated from the Premier League in 2017.

The initial transfer fee was £8 million, which is arguably one of the best deals in Premier League history given his previous successes.

Kerkez’s arrival means the left-back has only played 496 minutes in the Premier League this year, but he would be an excellent signing for Spurs.
