The Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has knocked down his numerous critics and insisted that he is ready to stay and fight his place, even if the Reds sign a new defender this summer.
Robertson has remained regularly for Liverpool, although he tried to repeat his best form of past years. The Scottish full-back has the second most common template of a defender in the history of the Premier League (59), but still has to achieve a single top goal this semester.
This decline in the attacking output – his opportunities generated has also decreased – is partly due to the arrival of Arne Slot. The Dutch head coach has instructed Robertson to participate more in Liverpool’s structure in defensive thirds, but there were also several cases of uncharacteristic concentration errors.
Like Robertson himself in an interview with Sky Sport This week: “Sure, there were a few moments this season when I didn’t cover myself in fame.” However, the left -back quickly added: “Some things were taken far disproportionately.
“I think the performance levels were there for me. I think I had a relatively good season, but one thing that people will say about me is that I was pretty consistent. So if you make a few mistakes, people can speak.
“This is the world we live in is the Premier League. Everyone has a look at you, everyone has an opinion. It is what it is, but I am always confident in my skills. I have shown this throughout my career, but especially during my time in Liverpool.”
The questions of Robertson’s form – and the overwhelming representations of his second line -up of Kostas Tsimika – have led to numerous transmission speculations.
“I think we were associated with pretty much every left -back in the world,” rushed Robertson. “It comes with playing with one of the biggest clubs in the world. I look back on these eight years that I had as a left -back in this club and I am very proud.
“Your time is coming and I don’t think it’s my time, but even if we bring in someone, it is the case. I will keep resetting myself.”
Liverpool was strongly associated with a change for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. The tireless 21-year-old would report the red reporting around £ 40 million, which made him seventh expensive arrival in the history of the club and conveniently made him the most expensive full-back.
Robertson arrived for only 10 million GBP from Hull City in 2017 to achieve more than 300 appearances and to raise seven main trophies. In the defiant point of view of the player, many other games and cups will come while he looks his contract, which lasts until 2026.
