Antony out for ‘revenge against himself ‘ after Man Utd horror spell

The real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini says that Antony is “revenge against himself” to prove that after his bitterly disappointing two and a half years with Manchester United, he is good enough for European football.

The 24-year-old brought his talent to Betis during the transfer window in January and told a six-month loan who does not include the option for a permanent step in 2022.

Antony scored three goals in just four appearances for the Spanish team – he has 12 goals from 96 United games in his record – and Pellegrini admitted that the chance to prove himself in Europe is driven by Brazilians.

“The most important thing was his attitude and self -criticism,” said Pellegrini. “If you have paid so much money for him, it is because he is a player of great level who could not appear in Manchester United for reasons that were unknown to me.

“He struggles to himself to show that he is a much more mature player. I spoke a lot to him to make him calm without showing great things, but easy to keep.

“He is a great player who does important things for the team and I hope he continues at this level until the end of the season because he will help us a lot.”

Betis has already admitted that Antony could take part in the end of the season, even though the agent of the left foot line left the door open for a comeback in Old Trafford when things go well.

This was Antony’s impression in Spain.
