Liverpool coach Arne Slot has denied links between his side and Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Napoli are open to offers for the Georgian winger, who is of keen interest to Paris Saint-Germain and is reportedly the subject of a swap offer for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.
The surprise over Kvaratskhelia’s availability led to fresh claims of interest from both Liverpool and Chelsea. While neither is believed to be actively pursuing a winger, the possibility of a long-term goal must be considered.
However, Slot suggested that there was very little to the story.
“I think it’s January,” Slot said in response to a question about Kvaratskhelia.
“I think I said after the West Ham game not to let myself down. Please let all these clubs and players who are interested in us or who don’t play much come up with us to go somewhere else. That means what happens now.
“Nine times out of 10, 99 times out of 100, at the end of the window it is clear that almost all of these stories were not true. So what can I say about that? The rumors continue, but no.” Comments from our side.
Napoli are believed to be interested in Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa as a possible replacement for Kvaratskhelia. Speculative reports on the situation suggest that the Italian could be offered as part of a swap deal, with Darwin Nunez even being touted as a potential replacement.
