Norgaard goes to the Emirates Stadium for a first £ 10 million with another £ 5 million pounds.

His arrival takes place after Arsenal has sucked out the interest of Tottenham from Nordlondon.

The 31-year-old spent five years with the bees after coming to the club from Fiorentina in 2019.

During this time he appeared 196, scored 13 goals and provided 18 templates.

He was also part of the team who won the Premier League for the Premier League in 2021 before he became captain two years later.

Norgaard is now Mikel Areta’s third signing of the summer transfer window and will wear the shirt No. 16 in the Emirates – previously dressed by midfielder Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini and Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

He follows the arrivals of the Spanish couple Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi.

The latter is expected to play a leading role in midfield next season after he has come from Real Sociedad.

Zubimendi’s long -awaited step was officially confirmed by the club last week.

In the meantime, Kepa will offer a competition for David Raya after Neto’s loan from Bournemouth.

Rio Ferdinand: Viktor Gyokeres’ upcoming step to Arsenal doesn’t bother me

Since Gyokeres joined the Portuguese outfit from Coventry from Coventry two years ago, he has scored 97 goals in only 102 appearances.

These strikes include a breathtaking hat trick against Manchester City in the Champions League in November.

He not only won golden boots in a row, but also released the club on two titles of the league.

Despite the stay, the Arsenal fans will hope that Gyokokers will soon become their fourth summer signing and finally end their search for a top class No. 9.

Arsenal was accused of shopping in Asda because after the first part of their interest in Norgaard, they were first created.

But Areta insisted that he is the kind of experienced and strong midfielder he wanted to take up in his team.

“We are pleased to welcome Christian in Arsenal,” said the Gunners boss.

“He is an international player with an abundance of experience in the Premier League. He has proven leadership qualities and a strong character that will be invaluable for our squad.

“He is a strong midfielder with excellent tactical awareness and versatility. He also has physical presence and intelligence that give us additional depth and balance.

“Christian will bring the group a lot on and outside the field, and we look forward to working with him in this next chapter of his career. We welcome Christian and his family in Arsenal.”
