Arsenal & Man Utd handed boost as Premier League target remains open to transfer

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha remains open to a move away from the club this month, according to a report.

Cunha has strong interest in his services after scoring 10 goals and four assists this season, with both Arsenal and Manchester United believed to be interested in a big move for the Brazil international.

A verbal agreement has been reached on a new contract for Cunha at Wolves, but he is now believed to be reluctant to put pen to paper and Fabrizio Romano has shown that the situation is very “open”.

Matters were further complicated by some harsh words from Wolves coach Vitor Pereira, who was unimpressed with Cunha’s performance in Monday’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.

“He is a captain. He can be frustrated because he wants to win, but everyone in the locker room wants to win. I don’t like his body language,” Pereira said. “I understand it now, next time I won’t understand it.”

However, Pereira stressed that he did not believe that Cunha’s interest in his services had turned his head.

“He feels committed to the Wolves,” emphasized Pereira. “But in your life, when you start listening to other clubs [are interested]… he is a human being and that is normal in football.”

The Daily Mail Nottingham Forest State have identified Cunha as their key transfer target for the remainder of the winter window, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also believed to have expressed interest.
