Sterling hopes to get his career back on track away from Stamford Bridge.

Sterling famously played for Manchester City while Arteta worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach.

The England international even scored 53 goals across all competitions in his final season under Arteta and would be happy to get anywhere close to that number.

It is expected that the Gunners will pay half of the 29-year-old’s salary during his time at the Emirates.

After the international break, he could now make his debut in the North London derby against Tottenham, followed by City the following week.

For Sterling, it has been clear for several weeks now that he will fail at Stamford Bridge.

The winger was dropped from Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad, stripped of his shirt number and told he would not play this season.

As a result, Sterling has been the subject of intense transfer speculation and Manchester United has also been linked with a transfer of the player.

Since joining Chelsea in 2022, Sterling has scored 19 goals in 81 games for the Blues.

But after contributing 204 goals in 339 games for City, the 29-year-old is desperately trying to get his career back on track.
