Jorginho moved from the west to north London in the 2023 winter transfer window, with Arsenal paying Chelsea £12million for his services.

The Brazil-born Italy international has been signed on an 18-month deal, with the 32-year-old’s contract including an option for a further 12 months.

And he has established himself as a key squad player under Mikel Arteta – appearing 35 times in all competitions this season.

Champions League winner Jorginho is considered a natural leader in the dressing room and was impressed by the absence of Thomas Partey.

He started in ten Premier League games where he formed an impressive partnership with Declan Rice.

His impending new contract will be music to the ears of Arsenal fans after his agent Joao Santos listed five clubs he could join this summer should he leave the Emirates Stadium.

But while Jorginho is expected to stay at London Colney, talkSPORT understands Partey’s situation at the club remains unclear.

The Ghanaian, who has struggled with repeated injuries since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2020, is tied to Arsenal until 2025.

And it is believed Arsenal could be open to offers for the 30-year-old.

After Partey returned to full fitness, he was instrumental in the London derby victories over Chelsea and Tottenham.

Arsenal are also believed to be in the market for a new midfielder, with Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes on Arteta’s radar.

Although Paris Saint-Germain are trying to stay ahead in the race to sign the Brazilian after holding talks with his representatives.
