Arsenal have been told it would mean an increase in their options if they signed Anthony Gordon in the summer.
The Gunners were linked with Gordon last week and there were reports suggesting a big-money move could be imminent.

Mikel Arteta is said to be a big fan of the former Everton winger and could try to bring him to the Emirates.
Two years ago, Gordon was close to joining Liverpool, but he later signed a new contract with Newcastle until 2028.
Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with the 25-year-old, but Arsenal are likely to lead the race.
And The Pitch Prospect Sunday Edition presenter Henry Winter believes he would be an improvement over their current wingers if they were to sign him.
Winter said on Sunday morning: “Arsenal have even been linked with Anthony Gordon this week…”
“But don’t think if he was going anywhere he’s going to Liverpool anyway… he’s been linked with them before.”
“He would suit Arsenal on the left because Leandro Trossard is good… Trossard is decent, [Gabriel] Martinelli is decent.
“But Gordon, I would say, is an upgrade for her.”
However, as things stand, The Pitch Prospect understands that Newcastle have no plans to make money from the England international.
And it is believed his Magpies deal does not contain a release clause.

Gordon vs. Trossard
Gordon has scored twice as many goals as Trossard this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions.
But he actually has less than the Arsenal star in the Premier League and has only scored three goals in the top flight so far.
Trossard has scored five league goals and seven in all competitions, with the other two coming in the Carabao Cup and the Champions League.
And it is the Champions League where Gordon has been at his best, scoring 10 goals in 10 games in Newcastle’s season.
When it comes to assists, the Magpies winger has five, while Trossard has three more, for a total of eight.
As for Martinelli, he has 11 goals and three assists in all competitions for Arsenal, which is fewer than Gordon in both departments.

Howe on Gordon’s links to Arsenal
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was asked about recent talks about Gordon moving to Arsenal.
“I’m not sure there’s much I can do about it,” Howe said. “I haven’t seen the story, so it’s new to me.”
“But we are in the middle of the season, we are in the middle of some of the biggest games of his career, and who knows what will happen to Anthony internationally in the summer too.”
“He doesn’t have time to look left or right.
“He has to fully concentrate on the next game and try to be as good as possible.”
