According to reports, Barcelona has approved a fee for the sale of striker Vitor Roque to Palmeiras before the Brazilian transfer window will be closed next week.
The young striker left Barca in the summer after he had to struggle in the twelve months after his arrival of EUR 30 million from athletico Paranaense – the deal contained a further EUR 31 million to add -on – and closed To Betis to a loan contract that included a 25 million euro option.
While Betis did not make a decision about Roque, Palmeiras are determined to sign the 19-year-old immediately.
Mundo Deportivo State Palmeiras has already given the willingness to pay the € 25 million required by Barcelona, which are willing to accept the offer if Betis agrees to terminate his loan at an early stage.
Barcelona contacted Betis to convince her to give up Roques Treaty, but her approach was not warmly met. Manager Manuel Manuel Pellegrini has publicly insisted that he wants to keep the striker, not least because the European transfer window is already closed and a replacement could no longer be obtained.
Sports director Manu Fajardo also spoke about his wish to exploit Roque his potential with Betis and to further dampen the hopes of Barcelona for a quick sale.
While Barcelona is waiting for a decision, Roque was called to the Betis squad for the trip after Getafe. Pellegrini discussed the situation before the game, but seemed to leave the door open to have a possible early exit.
“He is on the list of appointed and is part of the squad,” emphasized Pellegrini. “I can’t say what will happen to his future. The only thing I know about negotiations comes from the press. We will see how the problem is solved.”
