Barcelona wants to be the first page that Atletico Madrid defeated this season in the Metropolitano in La Liga when they visit the capital on Sunday.
The Catalan giant together with Madrid Giants are involved in a three-horse title race, and the victory this weekend would make it an enormous hurdle to be crowned La Liga Champions.
Barca is in exceptional form, but securing all three points is not uncomplicated against Diego Simeone’s Scrapper. Only one point separates the sides – although La Blaugrana also a game in hand – and Atleti avoided defeat in both clashes between the teams this season.
Here is how Barca can do for a crucial duel of the La Liga.
GK: Wojciech Szczesny – After Szczesny was blinded against Benfica in the first leg of the Champions League in the last 16, he returned a bit during the reverse game on Tuesday when he was able to violate Nicolas Otamendi’s tame header.
RB: Jules Kounde – Counde played an important role in Barca’s victory against Benfica with his marauding runs, but the Frenchman focuses more on his defense tasks in the metropolitano.
CB: Ronald Araujo – Araujo was attributed to the equation after such a long dismissal of injuries at the beginning of this season, but he can now be seen in Barca’s last three games for over an hour.
CB: Pau Cubarsi – Inigo Martinez may be the only man who loses his starting place this weekend, and Commessi, who was suspended because of the collision with Benfica and returned to partner Araujo.
LB: Alejandro Balde – The lung -bordered run of the left -back lubricated Barca’s third evening on Tuesday, but he is offered far less attacking freedom in Madrid against Simeone’s strict defensive unit.
DM: Frenkie de Jong – Marc Casado could enter to set up this weekend, but there is every chance that de Jong will keep his place in the team. He has started three of the last four trips in all competitions.
DM: Pedri – – At the end of the last month, the midfielder produced a mighty impressive exhibition in a chaotic 4: 4 draw with Atleti in the Copa del Rey. It would be imagined that Barca’s metronome will be involved in a similar way this weekend.
RW: Lamin Yamal – The early teenager scored another amazing goal on Tuesday and assist against Benfica – the youngest player in the history of the Champions League to manage such a performance.
Am: Dani Olmo – Gavi dismissed all rumors of exit due to a lack of season in this semester, and the Spaniard can be put on the bench for compatriots Olmo on Sunday. The summer signing was in an impressive form during the last games in La Liga.
LW: Raphinha – Raphinha produced two more excellent surfaces in the middle of the week when he continued his push for the balloon d’Or. He became the Brazilian, who scored the most goals in a single Champions League campaign after reaching his tenth and 11th against Benfica.
ST: Robert Lewandowski – Two games without a destination are a considerable drought for the productive Poland international from Poland, but it would be brave to bet against him that he adds to his season on Sunday. He scored against Atleti in the cup a few weeks ago.
