Bayer Leverkusen inner defender Jonathan Tah has confirmed his plan to leave the club free of charge transfer Barcelona continued to sign his signature this summer.
Tah, a star of Leverkusen’s triumph 2023/24 Bundesliga, should leave the club last summer. Bayern Munich pursued a deal, but ultimately no agreement could be agreed on a transfer fee and asked Tah to admit that he was able to complete a free period of time this year.
Most of the speculations turned to Barcelona and a connection with the compatriot Hansi-Flick, but there was also a lot of interest from the Premier League in a player whose arrival would be a significant bargain on a free transfer.
Tah stood by his decision to leave this summer on Sunday that he would go away from the club after his contract has expired.
“Definitely,” he said reporters when he was asked for a summer exit.
“The club knows about it. And as I always did, I communicated everything very openly. Everything was said from the start. There was a point when I decided not to extend my contract and not stay here, and so it works now.”
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will set his range of Tah. It was considered almost undoubtedly in January, but its ongoing registration questions – her salary upper limit was reduced in the middle of the continuing Dani -Olmo controversy – means that it is by no means a certainty to find space for German.
A lot could depend on expenses. The former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is expected to be transferred and offers could be entertained for Eric Garcia and even Ronald Araujo, the latter of which is available this summer for around € 65 million.
