Bayern Munich will offer Harry Kane a contract in breach of its over-30s rule in a bid to fend off interest from Barcelona.
This was said by European football broadcaster Andy Brassell, who revealed that the German champions will do their utmost to keep their star.

Harry Kane is already on an 11-game goal streak this season
The England captain has been in top form for the German giants this season, scoring an incredible 22 goals in 15 games so far.
Kane is currently on course for his best goalscoring season ever and that has also caught the attention of other European giants.
According to Spanish broadcaster SPORT, Barcelona are keen on the star striker being a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski when his contract expires in June.
While Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is their preferred choice, the publication states that he could prove too costly.
“Like Lionel Messi in 2015” – Harry Kane said he would have years at the top of football if he changed his career
This is where Kane becomes an attractive option, whose current contract runs until 2027 and contains a clause that could make a move easier.
It was previously revealed that his contract contains a clause allowing him to leave Bayern in the summer for a cut price of £57m.
SPORT claim Kane is open to a move to Spain but insist he will only make a decision on his future at the end of the season.
“Kane suits Bayern, and Bayern suits Kane”
Barcelona’s well-documented financial problems mean Kane is likely to take a cut from his £380,000-a-week Bayern wages.
And Brassell has claimed his current employers could take advantage of this by making an offer they rarely make.
Speaking about a potential move for Kane, he told The Pitch Prospect.com: “There is an attraction to Barcelona, no doubt about that. So much of what footballers do is about their status.”

He could replace Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona, the same striker he replaced at Bayern
“Obviously it’s not a big status to take a pay cut, but I think the status you get as a Barcelona player is considerable – it really inspires respect from your colleagues.
“And I think you could argue that if you gave a reason for it Harry Kane go to Barcelona.
“The fact that he would be replacing Lewandowski for the second time, having already done so at Bayern, although not in a row, I also find quite interesting – it’s almost like Thomas Tuchel tackling Jürgen Klopp, but maybe a small difference.”
Brassell then stressed how much Bayern value their talisman and admitted they would be willing to break their usual policy to tie the 32-year-old to the club.
The German giants usually only offer a one-year contract extension to players over 30, but are making an exception for Kane.
He added: “It would be a surprise for me if Harry Kane left Bayern because I think Kane suits Bayern and Bayern suits Kane absolutely perfectly.”

Kane may be tempted to follow in the footsteps of his England teammate Marcus Rashford, who moved to Barcelona in the summer
“There is clearly a desire to grant him an extension of more than a year – which, given the over-30s rule, is entirely consistent with his prolific success on and off the field.”
“The fact that the numbers don’t really describe how good he was, even though the numbers are exceptional, and the fact that he would also have to take a big old pay cut to go to Barcelona.”
And although Brassell insisted Kane and Bayern were a perfect match, he didn’t blame him for weighing up his options.
The European football expert admitted that the English hero wants to avoid a repeat of his past mistakes, having already signed a six-year contract with Tottenham in 2018, which later arguably cost him a move to Manchester City.
He explained: “I think at his age it would be wise to think about your options.
“Obviously he had previously taken on more than he wanted at Spurs and so limited his options.

Kane won his first career trophy when he won the Bundesliga with Bayern in May
“He rejected the Manchester City option because he signed a contract that was too long, a contract that was too big. Maybe that’s what he’ll remember – that freedom when he gets to the end of his career.”
Brassell added that Kane could be tempted by Barcelona if they have their sights on the Champions League title.
He continued: “He will know that although Bayern has a much calmer environment under Vincent Kompany, it may only be temporary. Things can change very quickly at Bayern. It is very, very volatile.”
“As long as Kompany is there and they are doing so well, of course at the time of our conversation they have won 15 out of 15 games this season.
“Everything is great at the moment, but Kane himself pointed out before the start of the season that they don’t have the biggest squad.
“So what shape are they in in March and April? And that’s the part of the season that counts for Harry Kane. He wants – I think they will win.” Bundesliga Sure – but he wants to be able to play for the Champions League. Can they do that now? That is the question.”
