Wissa is understood to be one of several targets Forest are considering this month.

Thomas Frank was asked by The Pitch Prospect’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook about Forest’s hopes of signing Wissa this month.

And the Dane replied in his usual entertaining manner: “Good luck! That won’t happen.”

The 28-year-old has been in top form for Thomas Frank’s side this season, scoring 12 goals in 23 games.

However, with the contract expiring in the summer of 2026, Brentford find themselves in a somewhat vulnerable position.

Forest are keen to strengthen their attacking line to continue their push for European football.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have had an incredible season so far and are currently sitting third in the Premier League.

This includes a series of seven wins in the last eight league games.

Not only are they well placed to play in the Champions League next season, but they are also just six points behind leaders Liverpool.

This means they could be serious title contenders in the coming months.

However, The Pitch Prospect understands Brentford have no intention of selling Wissa this month.

Wissa has been the Bees’ star player this season alongside Bryan Mbeumo, who was worth £50million in November, according to The Pitch Prospect.

Wissa was signed by French club FC Lorient in August 2021 and has scored 41 goals and contributed a total of nine assists in 133 appearances for Brentford.

With 11 goals this season, only Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, Chris Wood and teammate Mbeumo have scored more goals this season.
