Darren Bent has praised Bukayo Saka as “world class” as the Arsenal star was praised for being his team’s most skilled attacker.
But The Pitch Prospect has been told the Gunners will need to sign more firepower this January if they want to climb the Premier League table.
With 21 goals and assists in as many appearances this season, the winger was once again Arsenal’s biggest opponent this season.
He is on course to break Thierry Henry’s record of 20 league assists from the 2002/03 season.
Saka scored a brace and an assist in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Monaco in the Champions League – and Bent was full of praise for the 23-year-old.
Speaking on Inside Gooners, Bent – who is a member of the Premier League 100 club – said: “He’s incredible. He cannot be praised highly enough.
“Every single game he plays out there, he’s durable. If you watched last night.” [against Monaco] They didn’t really double him, sometimes there were three players against him and he had nowhere to go.
“He’s getting better and better and in every single game you know what you’re getting from him.
“Even if he doesn’t see much of the ball, there will be one or two crucial moments where he scores a goal or creates something. For me he is world class.”
“Every single game, regardless of the opponent. He’s not a flat-track bully who only puts weaker teams in their place. Champions League, EFL Cup, Premier League, every single competition Arsenal competes in he is there producing the best and it just keeps getting better.
“That’s the scary thing.”
Saka’s great performances have papered over the cracks in an at times failed Arsenal attack.
Against middle blocks, Mikel Arteta’s team often had difficulty creating the necessary chances due to the lack of experienced finishers.
Despite a 3-0 result against Monaco, the Gunners should have scored more goals.
Gabriel Jesus continued his drought of 32 goals in games as he failed to capitalize on his two one-on-one chances.
“There is an emphasis on how clinical and decisive [Saka] “It’s because the other attackers aren’t really,” The Athletic writer Charlie Eccleshare said on the show.
“Certainly not at the moment. When you look at this team, who is going to step up and make a moment? It’s him every time because even someone [Martin] Odegaard is not at his top level.
“That certainly doesn’t happen on the left side. Saka’s ability to score a goal out of nowhere is really impressive in this team.”
Arsenal content creator Clive Palmer added: “Do we have enough firepower to do what we want to do?”
“Back to Gabriel Jesus, we must find him again, for these things will cost us if we do not. They cost us on Sunday.” [against Fulham].”
Fans called for the signing of Viktor Gyokeres while Emmanuel Petit called for Victor Osimhen.
Whatever Arsenal plan for the upcoming transfer window, it must help guide the club to their first Premier League title since 2004.
The Gunners currently sit third in the league, six points behind leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.
Chelsea are in second place, two points ahead of Arsenal.
