The Brazilian international is expected to move to the city square after the World Club.
After her seventh place in the Premier League, he will be the first summer signing of Forest in the last term.
Their final position brought the club back to European competition for the first time in 29 years.
Forest will be released in the Play-Off round of the Conference League for a place in the league.
Until then, the fans could see a new striker in Red with Jesus shortly before completing his move.
Before his arrival, the 24-year-old played with Botafogo at the World Club Championship.
He scored in the first two games of his side when they scored victories against Seattle Sunders and Paris Saint-Germain.
In the meantime, South American football expert Tim Vickery has great hopes for Jesus and compared him to a Premier League legend.
When he spoke about the Transuropa Express, he said: “I really see Igor Jesus as a modern Didier Drogba.
“He is a one-man striker line. You can attack with him. You can attack with a player because everything you want to do is do it.

“Play on him and he will hold up the ball. Go into the channels and he runs behind defense. He can fall and combine.
“You get the penalty area and it will score goals. He can run with the ball with defenders.
“And he will stand behind the line of the ball and defend himself like a tiger. What kind of player. What kind of player he was.”
Jesus won both the Brazilian title and the Copa Libertadores with Botafogo last year.
Forest fans will be confident that he can do justice to the comparison with Drogba as soon as he enters the club.
The Ivorian won the Golden Boots of the Premier League twice during the first of two spells with Chelsea.
In his two stations on the Stamford Bridge, Drogba scored 104 goals in 254 league appearances for the club.
He also won 14 large trophies, including four league titles and the Champions League.
