Cardiff manager Omer Riza has confirmed the club are looking to sign striker Ricky-Jade Jones quickly.
While the Peterborough player’s contract runs until the end of the season, Cardiff are firmly hoping to shorten that contract.

One undeniable advantage Jones would bring to Cardiff is his remarkable pace.
He is considered one of the fastest players in world football as he can sprint 100m in a quick 10.9 seconds.
With this speed, he would be one of the fastest players in the 2024/25 Premier League season if he were playing for a top club.
The 22-year-old has reached a blistering top speed of 22.3mph in League One this season.
This impressive performance puts him ahead of other well-known Premier League players Gabriel MartinelliAlejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.
Last season, Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven reached a top speed of 23.2mph in Spurs’ thrilling 3-2 win over Spurs Brentfordand Jones is tantalizingly close behind.
Additionally, Jones boasts an impressive record of 35 goals and 11 assists in 175 appearances for Posh.
Speaking about the possible signing, Riza said: “There have been discussions about Ricky-Jade Jones and we will see how that develops.”
“I can’t go into more detail about the deals or the new players.
“At the moment we can only say that there are discussions. There are hurdles in the way we talked about before, namely whether players want to come to our club or whether we can afford to pay our club.”

“Whether it is right for us to sign these players and whether they will make an impact, we have to make sure we do it right. But the process of adding three or four players has definitely started.
“There are a number of players we are keeping an eye on in terms of pace in the top row, creativity and impact.
“He is one of many players we have talked about.
“The discussions are ongoing. The list is there. There are discussions about players.”

Riza has observed a slight upward trend in Cardiff’s results, however the club is still in the relegation zone after drawing and winning their last two games.
