The Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insisted that Xabi Alonso is “door open” to take over a club in the world after confirming his departure from Bayer Leverkusen.
On Friday it became known that Alonso will leave his role as a Leverkusen manager this summer. The announcement comes only a few hours after the news of the Spaniard agrees with a three -year contract with Madrid. A fee of € 5 million (€ 4.2 million to € 8.5 million) was agreed between the two clubs.
The last details of Ancelotti’s summer departure still have to be completed, but are seen as hardly as a formality, with Alonso replacing his former Bayern Munich boss in the Bernabeu Unterwand.
“I read that he was leaving Bayer Leverkusen,” said Ancelotti about Alonso. “He did an incredible job and the doors are open to him because he has proven to be one of the best in the world.”
Despite the increasing negativity in connection with Ancelotti’s time with Madrid, the boss confirmed his love for the La Liga page with a passionate warning to Alonso.
“If he [Alonso] Real Madrid represents better than anyone else, I don’t know: “Ancelotti continued.” Real Madrid is a special club that requires a special attitude of everyone who works here: players, coaches, employees.
“With this club the honeymoon never ends. Real Madrid, like Milan in front of you, are clubs that stay in my heart for the time I was here.
“When the pressure drops, affection rises. The honeymoon with Madrid lasts until the last day of my life.”
