The manager of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, confessed that he dreamed of becoming the Liverpool boss before taking over the rival Everton in 2019.
Ancelotti, who won the title of Premier League 2009/10 with Chelsea, enjoyed spell with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli, before he ended up on the blue half of Merseyside and surprised the world with the world when he registered in Goodison Park.
He spent 18 months in Everton before going to Madrid again, and his time in the city saw him an earlier dream of taking over Liverpool.
“My dream was to train Liverpool, but then I found myself in Everton and experienced her rivalry, and now I’m absolutely an Everton fan,” said Ancelotti to Rsi.
“I really liked the environment because there is a spectacular passion for the colors. They also notice the suffering that fans have for Liverpool, which is the best in the Premier League for many years.”
Ancelotti was confronted in Liverpool 20 times in his career, starting with the famous Champions League final in 2005 in Istanbul, in which his AC Milan team was 3-0 at halftime, but was finally lost in punishments. Milan took over in the final 2007, the first of Ancelotti’s eleven career winners against Liverpool.
It remains to be seen whether he will get the chance to stand Liverpool again. His future with Madrid is anything but safe after a disappointing campaign, and the Spanish giants will replace him this summer with Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.
